Hello, my name is Jesse. I am from Mount Desert Island, ME. I grew up loving nature and the outdoors and what I thought was a great appreciation of Mother Nature.
I was a heavy meat eater for 32 years. Of course growing up on the coast of Maine we ate a lot and I mean a lot of Lobster. And man are those things creepy and disgusting!!! Spending all summer fishing for tuna and stripers. I was never much of a hunter as most people are in Maine.
After college I spent 6 years traveling the country, (44 states) building Coach inc stores with my uncle and cousins. Leather goods, ugh!!!
In 2015 I moved to Malibu to be with my gf at the time. She had been vegan for 3-4 years. After being there for two weeks I was out for a run in the hills, stopped at the top and really reflected on the things she was telling me. Things she was opening my eyes too, that were right in front of me. Was I really close with nature and all living beings?
That night on December 1st 2015, I went Vegan. 100% cold turkey or whatever you would like to call it. For two years I lived in LA and I was 100% spoiled by being a new vegan. But I soaked all the knowledge in, at every moment. And then returned the favor to anyone interested in hearing the truth. I have so much more to learn as well, so much more to open my eyes and ears too.
Now I am back living in Maine, attending Grad School at my alma mater and getting a MBA. I will 100% be looking to work in the vegan food industry when I am done in two years. Crushing vegetables, running mountains and becoming a better human is my thing!
