I became vegetarian when I was 9years old, after a friend told me about the killing practices at slaughterhouses. With 16 years, the abundance of dairy products in the shops started to also seem a bit sketchy and I wondered where these products came from. So, I decided to write my research paper for high school on how factory farming affects the animals, the planet and the people. This research made me want to become vegan.
My parents didn’t want me to go vegan before I turned 18 for time constraints and us cooking together. We had the deal that I would eat 1 dairy food per week, which turned into 1 item per month for 1.5-years. It was incredibly hard knowing about the industry and having to continue to consume the products. I finally became 100% vegan on 1st Jan 2016, when I moved out. I have never felt better in my life. My actions align with my morals, I am taking pro-active steps to combat the current environmental destruction and I have significantly improved my health. My parents have become very supportive of this lifestyle now that they have seen how this lifestyle has improved my life, and slowly transitioning into becoming veggie.
To also inspire others, I created an Instagram (@treesnpeace) to advocate the vegan lifestyle and eco-friendly living to protect our beautiful Earth and all its beings. I hope to inspire as many people as possible. We all can change the world, our world. We have to change this world!
Make the connection today and go vegan!
