Hello everyone! I am a teenage girl from Canada who has always loved to cook for my family and friends. However, my family is big and full of many allergies to milk, fish, eggs and much more. Through research, I realized that by cooking vegan, my whole family could enjoy my recipes. Eventually, I began to wonder what being vegan actually meant and why so many people chose to live a vegan lifestyle.

I spent a lot of time doing research and I quickly made the connection. I didn’t understand how our world could support such a cruel industry every single day when it’s so easy to make a change. Immediately, I went vegetarian. When I became aware of all the cruelty in the egg and dairy industry, I would rarely eat animal byproducts because every time I did, I would feel a deep guilt and sadness inside of me.

That’s when I chose to go vegan. My friends thought I was crazy and my family thought I would die, but there opinions didn’t matter to me. What matters are the beautiful creatures that spend there whole lives captured in a cruel environment where they will be murdered prematurely. We all have the power to save them, it was time I began use that power.

Six months later, I have proved everyone wrong, I am more happy and healthy than ever. Today, I use social media as an outlet to share my love for animals and my passion for cooking through my photography and my writing. Now, everyday I have something to smile about. No matter what happens in my life, I always know I am doing good for the animals, the environment and my health. The happiness that veganism has brought into my life is honestly the best feeling.

I urge everyone to learn where your food comes from and how it affects the environment and your health before you consume it. The animals, the earth and your body will thank you.
