Hi everyone, I’m Chris! I’m 31 years and I come from Stockport in England…. home of Stockport County Football Club, Stockport Hat Museum and the pigeons that reside outside of Greggs bakery! Why Vegan? The easy answer is, why not?! But the serious answer is, after 30 years of battling with depression and researching the physical and mental health benefits of, firstly cutting out meat, I decided to go vegetarian. I was living in the USA at the time. Things weren’t working out at work or in my relationships, so I decided to come home. I hit a really bad patch in my life and the only thing keeping me going was studying mental health, fitness and diet.
So I gave Veganism a whirl, wow! After you begin to replace old habits with all of these wonderful new plant based alternatives, your whole world takes a turn. I began to realise that the root of all of my problems was who I was at this time in my life and that the only way things were going to change, was if I changed! It’s a strange transition at first, but one that you will benefit from greatly! I did fall off the wagon for a couple of months…. cheese and chocolate tested me and I became submissive to my temptations! I started to get sad again…. the thing is, all of those hormones that an animal carries throughout its life up until it’s death, are carried and passed on to us and stored in our DNA, whether it be fear, misery or whatever! You must have heard of „mad cow disease“….. well who ever heard of „mad plant disease“?? Nobody!! Do the math. I started to understand and appreciate the relationship between what we put in our mouths and what manifests as our reality!
Do I want to eat things (death, cruelty, misery etc) that bring me closer to death, or do I want to eat colourful and tasty foods that make me feel and look alive?? Not to mention that when you lay your head on that pillow each night, your conscience is much clearer……. besides the vegan cake!! I began posting and researching about Veganism, then saw a switch in the people I was attracting online and into my physical life…. I then took a keen interest in Yoga and also took up boxing training!! After 4 months of boxing training, yoga practice, as well as my Vegan lifestyle, I’ve had 2 boxing matches, lost over 24-25lbs, made some amazing friends and I have teamed up with an American couple and we are currently working on a website on Veganism. I am extremely grateful to Vegans Of The World for being my fight vest sponsor and for promoting Veganism the way that they do!
Please follow my page @teamveganinc which has been the starting point as we work towards our website and carry on pushing our message of living a much healthier, kinder, more compassionate and authentic way….. remember, kindness isn’t something we should just practice towards others but to ourselves as well (look up Ahimsa). How can a person consciously say that they love animals, then eat them?? Thank you Vegans Of The World for inviting me to be number 100 on your page.
LOKAH SAMASTAH SUKHINO BHAVANTU… May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and freedom for all.
Go Vegan. Don’t eat animals, it’s weird
