Three years back, on one cold winter night, two pups visited our front yard. And it all started.
They came in my life when I was having some tough time. But time changed as was my perception, when I, without knowing, became caretaker to those two strays. Since then, I have/had one to one relationship with around 40 stray dogs, and few cats, donkeys and birds.
As I spent my time with them, I felt more conscious and responsible about other beings suffering. Over time, I got some deep insights about their lives, their struggles, and more importantly their happiness.
And it felt so strange when I found out that each & every animal I fed (even once), reciprocated love, pure and eternal love. They simply valued the effort I put in to bring them everyday convenience.
I am very grateful to all the animals that crossed my life and I believe I am a better man for having known them.
Strays have a strong spirit.
They not necessarily depend upon us for their survival, but it still doesn’t relieve us from our duty towards them. It is our duty to at least provide them with food, clean drinking water and some caretaking,if not more. It doesn’t take away anything from us. Rather it will only bring in peace, content and pleasure.
