My name is Anthony and I have been vegan for 8 months.
I had participated in the Standard American Diet (albeit a healthier version than most) for nearly 25 years before making the change.
One of the roommates decided to randomly put on the documentary Food Choices on Netflix and so we watched the majority of it. Nothing about the documentary was amazing or groundbreaking to me, but something clicked and I decided to look further into the idea of veganism.
I told myself I would make the switch cold turkey that next Monday just to try it out, and I have been Vegan ever since.
I decided to educate myself along the way by reading many books, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and more. Although the transition was difficult at first, I have never looked back and feel better than ever physically and mentally.
I never thought that I would be where I am today, but I feel great about it. I have noticed so much more empathy and compassion in every decision I make.
I would encourage everyone to step outside of their comfort zone or the social „norm“ and give Veganism a shot.
Small changes are so much more important than you would imagine. At this point in my life, I could never imagine going back to eating animal products and I am so glad that I am where I am.
If you are already Vegan, remember to never be preachy to others, instead just be yourself and they will likely see you flourishing and take notice.
