I’ve always loved animals but it took me 13 years to stop eating them. When I quit meat and fish I was convinced that I’m doing something really good. Eventually I was interested in veganism but I didn’t see the need to become vegan myself.
But I stumbled across a lot of vegans on instagram and YouTube some years later. One day I started to educate myself. I found out how easy it was to eat vegan meals. I came to a point in my life where I prepared only vegan food for myself.
But when somebody else was cooking or when I wasn’t at home I still consumed dairy products and eggs. I got the China Study for Christmas and it opened my eyes. I couldn’t eat animal products anymore. So I went vegan on the 10th of February 2017.
The only reason it took me so long was my fear that people wouldn’t understand me. But it was way easier than expected. The people close to me are supporting me and what other people think isn’t important anyways. Going vegan really felt like an awakening. Eating without harming any being makes me so happy and healthy. When going vegan you’re starting to see the heartbreaking truth about what’s going on in this world.
But you’re also learning how easy it is to live cruelty free and you connect with likeminded people. Going vegan changed my life for the better.
